Daily Kos

Dan Abrams is an ass.

Tue Jun 03, 2008 at 10:38:53 PM PDT

I am watching MSNBCs late night coverage of tonights results. There has been many talking heads.
My problem is that for at least the last month he has become fixated on Hillary becoming the Vice President.
Certainly this is a posiblity. But she has diminished her chances with her campaign and her latest comments.
I wish that he would let it go.

Elizabeth Edwards takes on Tweety!

Fri Jan 04, 2008 at 02:20:11 PM PDT

I just turned on Hardball to see how Tweety would deal with the Iowa election. Needless to say Tweety is a jerk! But I am a glutton for punishment.
To my surprise Tweety was interviewing Elizabeth Edwards. I admire her ability to not beat around the bush. Well she sure took it to Tweety. Calling him and the MSM for unequal coverage of John. It did my heart good!
It is too soon for a transcript but I would advise watching the 7:00 EST version of the show.

Here is a link to video so that you will not have to watch the whole show.

Edwards -Obama... Obama-Edwards Pick your choice!

Tue Aug 07, 2007 at 08:09:45 PM PDT

I have been following the primaries quite closely. I do not have a definatetive choice although I am leaning Edwards. What I am attempting to put out is a win - win situation. Either of these candidates {on the top of the ticket} is a winner! Neither is beholden to lobbyists and is strongly against the war. I don't consider either in the pocket of Washington lobbyists. ( Sorry Hill you cannot say the same) The DLC is not their spokeperson. Obviously they would not agree with the recent editorial By Harold Ford et al in the Washington Post.
I hope that Kossacks and the public in general will not buy into the Clinton spin and will elect a truly "LIBERAL" candidate

Melissa Etheridge's Powerfull "Live Earth" performance!

Mon Jul 09, 2007 at 11:08:32 PM PDT

I am not sure if many people were able to catch Melissa's performance at the "Live Earth" concert. She includes a few songs, but what makes it exceptional is her commentary mixed in with the songs. It is certainly worth viewing as she is right on with her comments regarding the War and Impeachment and the envoirment,. I am including a link to the 2 part video. She sure has a lot to say on a number of issues and it is worth the time it takes to view.

"Part 2" http://www.youtube.com/...

It is too bad that it appears to have had limited coverage. Hopefully the links are functional.

I lost my virginity tonight. LOL!

Wed Aug 09, 2006 at 12:15:48 AM PDT

I was up all night in November 2000 hoping for a victory. I still do not believe it but such was not the case. My wounds slowly healed. Now it is 2004. Life is good. Kerry will win. Once again my heart was broken. But Paul Hackett will save the day. Close but no cigar.
Tonight I have tasted victory. I AM NO LONGER A VIRGIN!!!!

Filibuster in the Senate!

Thu Apr 27, 2006 at 09:42:56 AM PDT

Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) is currently filibustering the emergency spending bill in the Senate. He is offering an ammendment that would eliminate royalty relief for oil companies when the price of oil is above $50 a barrel. He simply wants a vote on his ammendment. This vote would eliminate subsidies to the oil companies costing billions of dollars. Obviously the Republicans do not want this ammendment to come to a vote as it would hurt big oil. It would put the Senators in a difficult position.
It can be watched live on C-span 2:

It will be interesting to see the outcome of this situation.

Countdown: Schiavo interview

Tue Mar 28, 2006 at 10:15:17 PM PDT

Perhaps this has been diaried earlier. If so I apologize. I just watched the second half of Olberman's interview with  Michael Schiavo. It brings back memories that are not pleasant. I am glad that Michael is keeping this issue alive. He has formed a PAC that targets the politicians who attemtpted to score points as a result of this unfortunate situation.Unfortunately I do not have the link yet.

This is a link to the first part of thr interview. The likes of Delay, Jeb Bush, and other Republican idiots should pay the price for their deplorable actions!

Censure gains momentum? with update.

Wed Mar 15, 2006 at 11:58:20 AM PDT

It has been announced at Raw Story that a least one senator has agreed to co-sponsor Russ Feingold's censure motion.

http://www.rawstory.com/...

Tom Harken of Iowa has come out in favor of proceeding. It is at least a humble start to the process. Perhaps the phone calls to the senators are indeed having an effect. Hopefully that this is the case. Keep the pressure on them as this opportunity should not be allowed to pass! Update: Although there has been a few naysayers about this diary the logic of it warranted diary. There have been additioanal signers on according to Firedoglake. http://firedoglake.blogspot.com/ The count is up to at least 5!

"Countdown" hits a homerun!

Wed Sep 07, 2005 at 06:00:38 PM PDT

Kieth has been covering the Katrina disaster wth honesty that has been lacking on many of the other stations. Today's program was just excellent. It hit all of the points dead on. His incerdulity over the USA Today poll had the right snark. He gave a timeline of the disaster nailing most of the Repugs talking points. His "Worst Person in the World" was dead on. It is a must see for later showings if you have a chance. I am sure that Crooks and Liars will have many clips for those who cant see it. I hope that this diary gives the opportunity for others to add to what he covered.

Mayor of New Orleans tells it like it is!!!!

Fri Sep 02, 2005 at 03:28:41 AM PDT

While we sit at our keyboards, people are dieing! We have no power. What can we do? I wish we had the answer. I am listening to CNN at 6:30 AM The mayor of NO is swearing as I type. He is asking for buses. WTF! God dammit can't somebody do something. He is asking for help.
I forgot Bush is going to do a fly by today. Big fucking deal!!! Update: I changed the title because this needs publicity!

Excellent coverage of Cindy.

Wed Aug 24, 2005 at 10:00:05 PM PDT

As you may well know by now, Cindy has returned to Crawford. The Lone Star Iconoclast has been providing coverage of these events.
I am providing a link to a very touching entry that was posted today.

http://198.65.14.85/News/2005/31-40/34news13.htm

It shows the emotions that Cindy has had to endure and what a strong person she is.
